Metacognitive Therapy Central offers high-quality Metacognitive therapy, that is backed up by science yet tailored specifically to your needs. You are in good hands, and every part of the process reflects that.
Book Therapy
Contrary to traditional types of psychotherapy that focus on symptom reduction, Metacognitive therapy changes your mental model of the mind. Instead of viewing yourself as mentally broken, you will feel emotionally resilient and capable of healthy emotional regulation. Your relationship with negative and self-critical thoughts will change and you will feel more in control of overthinking. This means that you can still feel okay and even thrive despite experiencing challenges in life.
You will benefit from MCT if you can recognize the following:
- You overthink a lot (e.g., worry and ruminate)
- Your overthinking is making you sad, anxious, and depressed
- You don’t feel that you have control over your overthinking (you can’t stop)
- You want to learn to reduce overthinking
- You are motivated to practice between sessions what you have learned in therapy
You will not benefit from MCT if you:
- Expect therapy to eliminate all negative emotions
- Are not willing to reduce rumination and worry
- Are not motivated to apply what you learned in therapy
Here is what my former clients say:
“After Metacognitive therapy, I find it’s become a bit easier to handle my anxiety and constant overthinking. Before, it was like I’d get stuck on one thing, then another, and another, until it felt overwhelming. Nowadays, it’s as if specific worries pop up, but I’ve learned to just let them be, not dwell on them too much, and they tend to fade away instead of piling up.”
“I had already undergone many regular therapy sessions before I encountered MCT, and it was MCT that truly made all the difference. I also embraced the method quite quickly and surrendered to the techniques.
“MCT has proven to be an invaluable tool for pulling my mind out of the constant cycle of self-absorption with thoughts, sensations, and emotions.”
“I’m a lifelong overthinker, and I encounter thoughts every day that could potentially drain my energy if I dwelled on them. Instead, I simply let them be. Since discovering MCT, I haven’t experienced those low periods at all. Shang taught me how to recognize the subtlety of these triggering thoughts and practice the art of letting them go. For me, MCT has become a way of embracing life in every single moment.”
